TOLERANCE

“Tolerance” is deeply informed by my personal history of diasporic experiences, which have defined my identity and fuelled my artistic exploration.  My lived experience of unjust, brutal and discriminatory societies in pre-Independence Algeria and South Africa under the Apartheid shaped my political values, and as such human rights and equality have become thematic concerns visible in much of my creative output. This series of work advocates respect of human rights for all, in times of angst, division and separatism.

“Tolerance cannot function in the absence of hope”
